Five Home Maintenance Tasks for March

This Ace Hardware video presents five home maintenance tasks for March:

1. Check and repair your window screens to prevent bugs from making their way into your home.

2. Apply Step 1 of the Scott’s 4-Step program to your lawn. Step 1 prevents crabgrass before it can germinate and helps green up a winter weary lawn.

3. Inspect each window and door for cracks between the trim and structure. Caulk the cracks to keep moisture form getting in and further damaging the window. Rotten or missing trim should be repaired or replaced.

4. Look for loose siding, cracks in mortar joints and cracks in the foundation above the soil line amd make repairs. They should be fixed before the issues become larger.

5. Dethatch your lawn and clean your flower beds. Dethatching allows water, nutrients and air to reach your soil, which helps root growth in your yard.
