Fall Flowers For Window Boxes and Containers

Refresh your window boxes and containers with colorful fall flowers. This video by Lowe’s presents five beautiful options for autumn gardening:

1. Pansies are great for edging containers as they are short plants with large flowers that come in white, yellow, blue, maroon and purple colors and bicolor mixes.

2. Ornamental kale is not only colorful but also withstands cold temperatures. With its big, frilly white, purple or green leaves, just a few plants will fill a window box or container.

3. Chrysanthemums (mums) are very popular fall flowers due to their wide variety of colors such as red, yellow, gold. lavendar and russet

4. Asters are perennials that come in shades of blue or purple. Dwarf varieties will spill over containers with hundreds of pink, blue or purple flowers.

5. Mini gourds and mini pumpkins add interest as well as color. They can be purchased from stores, or you can grow your own. Just intersperse them between the flowers in your containers and window boxes.
