Entertainer’s Dream Kitchen
With ’70’s materials and a floating dishwasher, this dated kitchen had an awkward layout and was far from ideal. With five easy DIY projects in one weekend, DIY expert Monica Mangin creates one cohesive space with a great flow – and no mobile appliances! See the details of this entertainer’s dream kitchen in this Lowe’s video:
This kitchen renovation began with a major demo, creating a clean slate. The adjacent dining room was painted a light gray.
1. Spacing and grouting luxury vinyl tile gives the new floor the look of porcelain.
2. Installing new white stock cabinetry, including a pantry and lazy susan, provides ample storage space as well as a niche for a new dishwasher.
3. Butcher block cut to size and stained gives the countertops a modern look.
4. A new mint-colored glass tile backsplash adds softness to the space.
5. The built-in bench on the opposite side of the peninsula connects the kitchen and dining areas together.
