Easy DIY Succulent Terrarium

While you can buy a terrarium at a store, it can be a little expensive – and it’s super easy to make your own. Learn how to make an easy DIY succulent terrarium in this Wayfair.com video:

1. Pick a glass container – a cookie jar, fish bowl, or any type of glass jar or bowl.

2. Add about 1/2 to 1 inch of sand.

3. Layer in larger rocks.

3. Scoop in small gravel.

4. Add activated charcoal. This will minimize fungal and bacterial growth.

5. Scoop in soil.

6. Break up the roots of the succulents, and then plant.

7. Add another layer of gravel around the plants.

8. Finish with decorative pieces and moss.

Water the succulents just enough. Puddling water at the bottom of the container indicates you’re giving it too much water. Test the soil with your finger – if it is dry, it needs water.
