DIY Framed Photo Display

You can create a simple photo display for your favorite photos in just a few quick steps. Learn more about this DIY framed art project in this video by Better Homes and Gardens:

For this DIY project you will need:

  • Canvas stretchers (find them in the arts supply section of a crafts store)
  • Paint
  • Measuring tape
  • Fabric scissors
  • Tacks
  • Twine
  • Linen fabric
  • Staple gun and staples
  • Silver clips

1. Notch canvas stretchers together.

2. Paint or stain the frame.

3. Cut the fabric to the size of the frame opening, adding one inch on all sides.

4. Flip the frame over and measure down at least one inch from the top.

5. Mark two holes and tap in tacks on both sides.

6. String twine for the pictures. Tightly stretch the twine across and twist around the tacks to secure. Depending on the height of your frame, you could add two or three more lines of twine.

7. Finish the frame with a fabric backing. Stretch and staple into place, checking to make sure the fabric is taut. Start in the center when stapling, working on opposite sides around the frame. Staple the corners last.

8. Attach pictures to the wires with small clips, and you’re done!
