Decorate an Outdoor Wall with a Lattice-Look Planter

It’s easy to decorate an outdoor wall with a lattice-look planter. Learn more about this DIY project in this Lowe’s video:

This 4′ x 4′ hanging planter is made with an inexpensive wood lath – the wood strips used for lattice – no cutting needed. Plants are mounted using zip ties. For a detailed tools and materials list and project instructions, click here.

1. Measure and mark where the first two layers will connect. Match up your marks and attach with exterior glue and staples or nails. Make sure to let each layer dry before moving on to the next set of lath.

2. Continue measuring and marking with each additional layer. As you add depth, insert shims between the slats to support the material as you staple or nail.

3. Follow the project diagram until all five layers are complete. Once the glue is dry, prime and paint it your desired color.

4. To attach the pots, slip the zip tie around the slats slightly. Hold the desired pot in the ring and tighten to hold in place, then snip off the excess from the back side.

5. Plant the pots with your favorite annuals and enjoy them all summer long.
