Curved Steel Raised Bed

Think outside the box and bring industrial style to your garden by creating a raised bed from stainless steel sheets. Learn how to make a curved steel raised bed in this HGTV video:

For this project, you will use 20-gauge stainless steel sheets.

1. Pre-drill holes in three sheets at once, drilling three rows of holes at one end.

2. Slide one undrilled end under a drilled piece.

3. Use a rivet gun (an inexpensive, fast and easy way to connect steel pieces) and short rivets, attach all three pieces together to make one continuous sheet.

4. Using the steel sheet, lay out the shape of the bed, then mark the shape with flour.

5. Insert steel fence posts, evenly spaced around the bed.

6. Attach the steel sheet to the posts with bolts and locking nuts.

7. Fill the raised bed with soil and plants.

As the steel rusts, iron is added to the soil.
