Craft Room Makeover
This creative family’s crafting space, while having all the supplies you could ever want, wasn’t exactly inspirational and lacked personality. With five easy DIY projects in one weekend, DIY expert Monica Mangin creates a creativity area that’s both organized and stylish. See the details of this craft room makeover in this Lowe’s video:
1. The walls were painted a light gray color (to the initial dismay of the homeowner!).
2. A custom table was made from plywood, stock cabinetry and veneer edging and stained with a natural tone stain. Holes drilled in the tabletop hold galvanized buckets with craft supplies.
3. For a craft organization wall, a DIY giant pegboard was made from plywood, using a 3/4-inch paddle bit to drill the holes. 3/4-inch dowels serve as the pegs. Stock cabinetry under the pegboard provides storage for all of the craft supplies that were in stacked bins.
4. Picture ledges stained a rich walnut color display all of the artwork.
5. An old dresser was painted blue and converted into the ultimate wrapping station with a wrapping paper bin and ribbon dispenser.
