Convert an Old Door Into a Desktop

The DIY door-to-desktop conversion featured in this Build.com video was built for a photographer who needed an extra large space for her photography work without compromising style:

When using an antique door with old paint, be sure to test for lead content and follow all safety precautions.

Old pallets were used to make sawhorses for the legs. These were sanded down, then shelves were added and a whitewash applied.

The antique door was stripped and scraped to create a weathered look. A sealant can be added for extra durability.

For a final touch, a custom tempered glass top with beveled edges provides a smooth flat work surface.
