Contemporary Walkout Basement Renovation

This family home basement worked perfectly when the children were small, but now the space requires an upgrade to make it more suitable for teenagers. There were three items on the wish list – design around the ping-pong table, make it less blah, and make it clean and modern but still warm. This walkout basement already had tons of natural light, which maximized the design possibilities. The oversized gray porcelain tile is both durable and beautiful. Oak paneling and shelving warm up the space. A seating area with a sectional, two occasional chairs, lots of comfy pillows, and a plush area rug is the perfect spot for TV viewing. Walls were added to create a small private gym that was painted dark gray. Baskets and plants provide the finishing touches to the space.
