Combination TV/Playroom with Vintage Charm

Do you have kids who have toys, but you still want to have a put-together home? How about a playroom that also functions as a living space? With the right piece of furniture and the right vintage accessories, any room can pull double-duty and be chic and unique. See how designer Leah Ashley created a combination TV/playroom with vintage charm in this video by The Design Network:

This TV/playroom was a super-dark gray, and all that was in there was a couch and a lot of toys. The makeover started with painting the room a lighter color and installing neutral curtains. Neutral curtains are a great way to save money, and they never go out of style. Under the TV, a metal-top wooden sideboard with distressed metal drawers gives a vintage feel and houses a boatload of toys. The burlap-upholstered ottoman trimmed with nail heads is soft and light and doesn’t take up much space.

Adding open shelving provided a place for displaying plants and vintage decor, including glass jars covered with chicken wire, art work, an old diploma, books, an antique brick mold, old corbels, a brass urn, and an old gasoline canister.
