Color Schemes for Orange Tile Floors

What color scheme goes with orange tile floors? By working with what you have rather than ignoring it or downplaying it, you can create a color scheme that’s really cohesive. This video by Better Homes and Gardens provide several suggestions:

Orange is more versatile than you might think. Blue often brings out the best in orange because they are opposites on the color wheel, and blue is a really great color to work with, whether your style is farmhouse, classic or more modern, because it too is a very versatile color.

Orange also pairs nicely with other warm colors like yellow and red. A clean white backdrop and a little bit of gray are nice neutrals to work in.

A terracotta color of orange that’s more muted works well with other muted colors and neutrals like taupe, khaki and creamy white.

So how do you work with an orange tile floor specifically? The key is to keep your walls neutral. When you have a distinct color on the floor, adding in another color onto your walls creates a look that’s disjointed, plus there will be a lot competing for your attention visually. So keeps your walls neutral with a soft white or light gray, and work in a medium tone neutral like khaki or a darker shade of gray onto your bigger furniture pieces, and then play with color in your accents.
