Cluttered Basement Transformed into a Mom Cave

This basement was a dumping ground for old toys and old furniture and needed to grow up and get organized. See how this space was transformed into a “mom cave” in this House & Home video:

This space was designed to be used as a TV viewing area, office space and mudroom with tons of storage.

A large bright pink sectional couch is perfect for TV viewing, and it can be converted into a double bed for sleepovers. Bedroom furniture was used to maximize hidden storage under the TV and also provides surface for decor displays. Delicate brass pulls transform the look into living room furniture.

For the office area, a dining table offers a more elegant look than a typical office desk. An all-white palette keeps the look very clean. A trio of sconces on the wall adds a fashionable element.

Clutter was removed from the existing bookcases, and Japanese silk screen paper was applied to the back. Decorative boxes and baskets provide organization, and books and decor items were carefully arranged on the shelves.

The door to the backyard was dressed with curtains with the adjacent wall storage serving as a mudroom.
