- Go bold by combining winter’s frosty white with jeweled toned ornaments that include birds and butterfiles. Here’s a litle trick: wire the balls into clusters before you hang them on the tree.
- For a sophisticated look, flank your fireplace with two small trees decorated with white and silver ornaments.
Mantels are another great place for holiday charm:
- Add depth and shine to any room by setting a wreath before a mirror – it gives the wreath real prominence.
- A folk-style star is easy to make by threading burlap and red ribbon through screw eyes on a board.
- Set up a trio of DIY antiqued mirror tiles and chalkboard-finish ornaments and nutcrackers you can decorate yourself.
