Bright Transformation of a Main Floor

This home was charming, warm and inviting but quite dark. The main floor felt smaller than it actually was because of the mix of flooring and dark hardwood running into light tile. See the details of this bright transformation in this House & Home video:

The space was opened up and made lighter, fresher and larger with several changes:

New flooring
Feature wall with concrete-style wallpaper and a modern fireplace that sits higher up on the wall
Large see-through industrial-style light fixture over the island
New gray chairs and wallpaper and a re-painted French armoire in the dining area
Re-upholstered and re-painted chairs
New coffee tables and window treatments in a cobalt blue, coral and pink pattern that ties in to the colors in the furniture and throw pillows
