Bright Modern Bathroom Makeover

With a stained Jacuzzi tub, tired-looking tile and peeling laminate on the vanity, the bathroom in this 26 year-old home was definitely in need of a refresh. The homeowner wanted a bright space with a modern aesthetic, clean lines and a walk-in shower. See the details of this bright modern bathroom makeover in this House & Home video:

A standout hexagon tile with a modern floral pattern, used on the floor and shower as well as up the back of the vanity, is eye-catching and adds a huge graphic element to the space. In contrast, the other elements were kept more quiet and neutral. The shower and toilet walls are covered in a 12″ x 24″ white tile that blends seamlessly into the white painted walls. A large shelf in the shower doubles as a bench.

An off-the-shelf vanity top combined with custom oak cabinets is perfect for the space. To prevent tangled curling iron wires, the vanity has no knobs. An outlet is hidden in a shelving niche; the upper shelves are used for display and everyday items.

Inexpensive barn style light sconces painted teal add a touch of color and blend with the new roman window shades. Wall-mounted Moen fixtures in a chrome finish add a bit of sparkle.
