Bold Geometric Laundry Room and Mudroom Makeover

With its washer, dryer and sink cabinet, this basic laundry room was a blank slate. Taking advantage of its 10-foot ceilings, designer Jenna Cadieux converted the space into a combined laundry room and mudroom that’s more functional for the family. See the details of this bold geometric laundry room and mudroom makeover in this House & Home video:

In the laundry area, the washer and dryer were placed on a raised pedestal for easier access. A quartz countertop provides a large working surface. The adjacent sink cabinet offers lots of handy storage, a built-in laundry hamper, and a 12-inch deep white granite laundry sink with pull-down faucet, laundry rack and soap dispenser.

The mudroom area has an upholstered bench, under-cabinet storage for boots and shoes, and hooks for backpacks and coats. New cabinetry runs along one wall and up to the ceiling and includes a broom closet.

The dark cabinet color is balanced on the opposite wall by bold geometric wallpaper that adds depth and dimension to the room. The white ceramic hexagonal backsplash as well as the patterned bench fabric continue the geometric motif. A beautiful antique oversized mirror, refinished in black gloss paint, provides the finishing touch.
