Bold and Fun Guest Spaces

Even though each room has its own personality, the guest bedrooms in the 2020 HGTV Smart Home share a vibrant color palette, luxe furnishings and sophisticated style. See the features of these bold and fun guest spaces in this HGTV video:

#1: This space was designed with the sophisticated traveler in mind and has walls painted in a deep teal color. A gallery wall composed of photography, children’s art, some ethnic pieces and dramatic architectural sconces makes the room feel curated. The cream channel back leather headboard is the perfect contrast to the eclectic bohemian wall that’s right above it. As in all of the guest rooms, there is a patterned carpet; this one is especially geometric and has hits of teal that reference the walls.

#2: This room has an urban but youthful feel and is designed for a teenager. The chocolate colored walls contrast amazingly with the pink headboard, and the art pieces are reminiscent of Pittsburgh urban street art. There is also a patterned rug with a subtle gray pattern that fits perfectly with the room’s color palette.

#3: Designed for a younger child, this warm room is packed with style. Warm orange walls make the space feel youthful yet cozy, and the plaid patterned rug provides a more sophisticated look. It’s fit for a toddler now but will transition easily into a teenage space. The overscaled wing back bed looks super sophisticated but is whimsical enough to work for a child. There’s also a comfortable rocker glider that’s perfect for bedtime stories but does not scream “baby”. Twin storage units have open shelves for display items and books and drawers for clothes.
