Architect’s Tiny Home on Wheels

This architect’s tiny home on wheels was built for financial reasons – to avoid the high housing prices in Wanaka, New Zealand – and it can be moved from campsite to campsite in areas where there are stunning outdoor views. Take the tour in this Living Big in a Tiny Home video:

The home was constructed from metal-skinned insulated panels attached to a steel frame and has full-height energy-efficient doors and windows. Three photovoltaic panels allow off-the-grid living.

On the floor is a map of the location of the home. In the living area is a dining table, adjustable shelves, and a work desk that can be converted into a day bed. The U-shaped kitchen has ample prep and storage space.

There is a shower wet room and toilet behind the kitchen which is accessible from the outside. As the homeowner is using the campsite facilities, however, the wet room is not currently is use.

A ladder leads up to the sleeping loft with a large skylight allowing a view of the stars at night. In front of the loft are floor-to-ceiling storage cubicles on each side.
