Apartment Dining Room Makeover

This apartment dining room serves as a multi-purpose home office and dining, entertaining and storage area. The corner file cabinet looks out of place with the rest of the room; moreover, the dated flooring and verticals and a cheap ceiling lamp lack visual appeal. See how designer Kelly Edwards give this space a fresh functional makeover by using a utility knife in this video by The Home Depot:

Rental

The key to this dining room makeover is the installation of
TrafficMASTER Allure vinyl plank flooring. It is perfect for renters because it floats on the existing floor; the only requirement is a flat hard surface such as concrete or old hardwood. Planks can be scored and snapped just by using a utility knife and installed via its patented GripStrip design.

While the new flooring transformed this dining room, the makeover was taken to a new level by applying gray-blue paint to one wall, installing a new light fixture and replacing the corner file cabinet and console with a larger piece of furniture.
