Affordable Dramatic Living Room Update

A living room can go from drab to fab on a budget of just $500. See the results of this affordable dramatic living room makeover in this video by Robeson Design:

The living room was a good open space, but the height of the windows was lower than the sliding glass doors and the transom window and also lower than the opening to the kitchen. The carpet was inserted into the wood flooring. Exposed wiring above the fireplace was intended for a TV that never got installed.

This makeover took just one day and only required:

• Rearrangement of the furniture with the addition of throw pillows
• Adding a row of picture frames above the windows, palm trees to either side of the windows, and a wall sconce between the windows
• A chest of drawers and overhead TV on the wall beneath the opening to the kitchen
• Artwork above the fireplace and on the adjacent wall
• Relocation of the “elephant in the room”
