Add Style to Your Bathroom with Track Lighting

Track lighting can add some serious style to your bathroom. The tracks are made of a soft brass that is nickel plated and easy to shape. They also serve as conductors, so no wiring is needed. Learn about this relatively easy installation process in this DIY Network video:

1. With the power turned off, spray foam insulation around the electrical box to seal it and keep warm moist air from escaping into the attic and causing water damage.

2. Lift the transformer into place, make all the wiring connections, then attach the cover.

3. Create the spiral track using a bucket as a guide.

4. Use pins to connect pieces of track and tighten them using an Allen wrench before finishing the rest of the spiral. To get the layout just right, use a laser as a plumb. This makes it easier to center the track while it is still on the floor.

5. Use a laser to mark where the supports will go on the ceiling. Punch holes with a screwdriver and screw the anchors into place about every 3 feet. Track supports screw onto the track. Remove the bottom half and attach it to the track once they are all in place.

6. Lift the entire track onto the ceiling and tighten the supports with an Allen wrench. Lastly, space the lights evenly along the track. Angle each fixture to highlight your favorite parts of the room.
