Add a Cottage Feel with Wood Paneling

Wood panels can add beauty, warmth and texture to your home. Learn how to add a cottage feel to your space with wood paneling in this House & Home video:

Wood panels can be ordered online in a variety of finishes. They are surpringly thin and super-light, making them perfect for DIY indoor installation.

Using a hand saw, cut the pieces to fit the size of your wall. You can apply them horizontally, vertically, diagonally or in a herringbone pattern. Using double-sided tape for your initial layout makes it easier to correct mistakes. Be sure to distribute the different tones and finishes of the pieces across the wall. This project can easily be done in one day, even if you plan to do an entire room.

This featured space was turned into a rustic-style office with the addition of wood flooring, a wool rug, a large work surface, a modern swivel chair, and hints of white in the curtains and art work.

Wood paneling can be used to create an accent wall in a bedroom, living room or kitchen. This versatile look can be taken into several different directions – country, rustic, industrial, urban or modern, depending on the pieces you select to complement it.
