Accessible Home Gym for a Navy SEAL

A 10′ x 16′ corner of the garage was the ideal location for an accessible home gym for a Navy SEAL. Learn how the gym was built in this video by This Old House:

The design plan included mounting some of the equipment to one wall and a mirror on the adjacent wall, covering the concrete floor with rubber padding and placing the remaining equipment around the remaining space.

The rubber flooring provides comfort while working out and also protects the flooring from equipment mishaps. Interlocking rubber pad squares allow a quick installation. J-channels support the metal framed mirror, while the wall-mounted equipment was attached to the wall studs.
