Lodge-Style Bonus Room

Whether you’re settling in apres ski or apres nap, the lodge-style bonus room in the 2019 HGTV Dream Home is ready for you. See the features in this HGTV video:

The design of this bonus room pays homage to the nearby winter resort with a classic wintry color scheme. The walls and the ceiling are both painted in the same shade of navy blue, and a few other shades of blue are layered in with pillows and a leather sofa. A unique white cork flooring feels great underfoot and also helps bounce light around the room.

Almost all of the decor ties back to skiing or winter. An 8′ x 6′ vintage photo of men skiing at one of the local resorts is the biggest statement in the room. There are low-slung chairs with arms resembling skis that happen to be recliners. Vintage skis hung at different heights are displayed on one wall.

A reclaimed wood console table works great as a workstation. Underneath the bay window are two low-to-the-ground Carrara marble coffee tables that create a cozy nook with tons of pillows for curling up. Roman shades with an abstract snowflake pattern add to the overall wintry feeling.
