Industrial-Style Ornament Christmas Tree

Give a space a non-traditional holiday vibe by using copper and wood pieces to create a faux tree. Learn how to make an industrial-style ornament Christmas tree in this HGTV video:

You will need two 1 x 3 x 6′, one 1 x 3 x 29.5″ and two 1 x 3 x 1′ pine boards in addition to four 1/2″ x 2′ copper pipes. For a complete tools and materials list and detailed instructions, click here.

1. Cut 13-degree angles at the top and 72-degree angles at the bottom of the two 6-foot boards.

2. Apply stain to all pine boards and let dry.

3. Create a triangular frame with the two 6-foot boards and the 29.5-inch board:

• Use wood glue to adhere the top ends of the 6-foot boards to each other. Clamp and let dry.
• Use wood glue to adhere the two ends of the 29.5-inch board to the bottom ends of the 6-foot boards.
• Hammer in finishing nails at each corner of the triangular frame to secure.

4. Fit in a 1/2-inch x 24-inch copper pipe at the bottom of the triangular frame and mark the position, then mark every 10 inches moving up from the first mark.

5. Cut additional 1/2-inch copper pipe to size for each additional set of marks.

6. Drill pilot holes at each mark in the frame, insert the copper pipe pieces and use screws to hold them in place.

7. Secure the triangular frame perpendicularly to the two 1-foot boards, one at each end of the base, with wood glue and finishing nails.

8. Add your ornaments.
