How to Make a Terra Cotta Fountain

For this DIY project, you will need the following:

  • Water pump
  • Vinyl tubing
  • Drill
  • File
  • Glue
  • Brass pipe fittings
  • Plastic saucer
  • Terra cotta containers: azalea pot and saucer, tapered bowl, and strawberry jar
  • Pebbles
  • Water plants

1. Soak the azalea pot and saucer in water overnight.

2. Drill 1 hole in the center of the saucer and 4-6 holes evenly spaced near the rim of the pot.

3. File a lip on the pot for the tubing.

4. Attach a plastic saucer inside the base of the bowl with glue.

5. Install brass pipe fittings in the saucer.

6. Place the pump in the base of the bowl.

7. Attach vinyl tubing to the pump.

8. Thread the tubing through the pot and the jar.

9. Attach the tubing to the pipe fittings in the saucer.

10. Add pebbles to the bowl and saucer.

11. Fill the bowl with water.

12. Add water plants to the bowl.

Plug in, and you’ll have soothing bubbling water!
