How to Build a Cinderblock Bench

Using just cinderblocks and 4x4s, you can create an outdoor bench that does double-duty as a planter. Learn how to build a cinderblock bench in this HGTV video:

1. Spray 14 cinderblocks with outdoor paint and let dry.

2. Stack seven blocks, using outdoor construction adhesive between rows. Place the last block with the holes up (to use as a planter).

3. Stain and seal four 4×4 boards.

4. Use one board to determine block placement on the opposite end of the bench.

5. Stack the remaining seven blocks for the opposite end of the bench as in step 2.

6. Touch up the blocks with outdoor spray paint.

7. Slide the boards through the holes in the blocks.

8. Add flowers and decorative pillows.
