How to Grow and Harvest Blue Horizon Ageratum

How about a flower for your garden that not only looks great in the landscape but also makes a great cut flower? Learn how to grow and harvest Blue Horizon Ageratum in this video by P. Allen Smith:

Blue horizon ageratum (also called Floss Flower) has gorgeous blooms in a blue color that’s hard to find in other types of flowers. If you want to grow them in your own garden, you need to make sure that you have a place that gets plenty of sun (at least six hours of sunlight per day). You also want to make sure the soil is well-drained as they don’t like wet soil. Feed them about every 3-4 weeks with an all-purpose liquid fertilizer whether you’re an organic or inorganic garden.

This may seem counterintuitive, but the more you cut, the more flowers you get. By continuously harvesting flowers and enjoying them in your home, the plants will produce more for you.
