Outdoor Play Area Makeover

These homeowners wanted an outdoor play area for their three girls that’s exciting and safe, but their backyard only had a totally run-down swing set. With five easy DIY projects in one weekend, DIY expert Monica Mangin refurbishes the swing set and creates an additional play space that will grow with the girls. See the details of this outdoor play area makeover in this Lowe’s video:

1. A new shed, the girls’ new play area or “wee shed”, was built and painted white on the inside.

2. The swing set was power washed and outfitted with a sandbox and new swings and monkey bars. A mini-shed that mimics the roof line of the new shed was built on top of the swing set.

3. Durable vinyl flooring was installed in the shed.

4. The shed and swing set were painted in pink, coral, mint and periwinkle blue colors in a vertical striped pattern.

5. The interior of the shed was accessorized with a desk countertop, arts and crafts materials, an area rug, chairs, cushions and plants.
