How to Repair Cracked Tile

Having one damaged tile doesn’t mean you have to replace all of them. Learn how to repair cracked tile in this Lowe’s video:

If the tile just has a small crack:

• Clean the cracked tile first with soap and water.
• Mix tile filler with touch-up paint and fill the crack.

If the tile needs replacement:

• Break the tile carefully by drilling a series of holes to direct the break (don’t use a hammer).
• Split the tile with gentle chisel taps and remove the tile without prying at any other tiles.
• Scrape off any grout or mortar remaining on the surface.
• Apply mortar or adhesive to the new tile and set it in place.
• Add a matching grout with a grout float. Clean the tile and buff off any haze.
