The combination of rustic details and modern conveniences creates the ultimate kitchen with a view. An oversized subway tile backsplash with a handcrafted feeling extends all the way to the ceiling, while open shelving and butcher block countertops combine texture and unmistakable farmhouse style.

The vaulted ceiling is punctuated by rustic beams that were treated with a special tea and vinegar stain. Clear globe lights add a structural element while illuminating the space, and most importantly, they don’t block the view.

The open feel continues with the design of the island. Shaped just like the state of Vermont, the custom waterfall countertop with its warm wood finish gives a nod to the home’s location. The island has space for storage and an industrial feel, and there’s seating for three. Underfoot, wood look tile was laid in a unique pattern that mimics the look of an old barn.
