Affordable DIY Rental Balcony Makeover
This tiny and previously unused balcony is now a beautiful cozy place to relax and unwind. See the details of this affordable DIY rental balcony makeover in this EngineerYourSpace video:
A frame made from pine boards and stained in a coffee color was inserted into the opening between this balcony and the adjacent balcony. The focal point of the space is an attractive carved round wood panel suspended within the frame using eye screws and paper stem wires. It creates a sense of privacy while keeping the space open and airy.
The first seating option was a chair and ottoman. As there was no room for a side table, a DIY table made from wood and beautiful handpainted paper and sealed with polyurethane slides over the chair arm.
To provide seating for guests, the chair and ottoman were replaced with a DIY stained wooden bench. A colorful outdoor plastic rug, side trellis with a mounted staghorn fern, and outdoor cushions and pillows were added. The DIY side table was converted into a fold-down table that hangs over the balcony wall. A folding chair and blue round table complete the seating area.
On the other side of the balcony is a washer and dryer closet, so the space had to be clear. A plant and gold mirrored mosaic frame was hung on the door.
Solar lights and LED lights provide the finishing touches and make the balcony a great place to hang out during the evening.
