How to Install Wainscoting Panels

Wainscoting is an easy and affordable way to add character to a room. Learn how to install wainscoting panels in this video by Better Homes and Gardens:

1. Choose a starting point and measure desired height of wainscoting.

2. Using a level, mark a horizontal line across the wall with a pencil or marker.

3. Measure and mark wainscoting panels, then cut to size.

4. Apply construction adhesive to the back of the panels and press into place. Nail along the edges of the panel.

5. Mark outlets or other obstructions on the panels and cut as needed.

6. Measure and mark molding pieces. Cut molding pieces and fasten with brads.

7. Fill holes with putty and caulk molding seams.

8. Apply a coat of primer and let dry. Finish with a coat of paint.
