All-American Boy’s Bedroom Makeover
It’s deja vu all over again, with this couple’s young son finding his bedroom so boring that he sleeps in his parents’ room. With five easy DIY projects in one weekend, DIY expert Monica Mangin creates a space that this little boy will love. See the details of this All-American boy’s bedroom makeover in this Lowe’s video:
1. The focal wall was created by covering one wall with wood paneling oriented vertically. The seams were covered with white furring strips; horizontal strips serve as display shelves for small items.
2. A custom headboard with a high-end look was made from stock lumber using a faux plank technique.
3. The DIY corner desk with floating shelves was built from wood and copper pipes.
4. A backboard for a basketball hoop was built in the same style as the headboard and stained with the same walnut stain used on the bed and desk to keep the space cohesive. The spray-painted black hoop blends with the room’s color palette.
5. The DIY trundle bed is a space-saving solution for sleepovers.
