Young Girl’s Bedroom Makeover

This couple’s daughter hates her bedroom and hasn’t slept in it in two years, and a design intervention was desperately needed. With five easy DIY projects in one weekend, DIY expert Monica Mangin creates a space where this little girl can infuse her own personality and that can grow along with her. See the details of this young girl’s bedroom makeover in this Lowe’s video:

1. The room was painted a muted purple 3/4 of the way up the walls.

2. A custom modern playhouse headboard was made from plywood and painted white.

3. Bobby pin designs were hand drawn in a sophisticated gold color on the top 1/4 section of the walls using stencils and water-based paint pens.

4. A letter message board was made by painting letters on balsa wood pieces using stencils and building and mounting 1-inch ledges on the wall.

5. For the closet, replacing the builder-grade door with a new barn door adds style and functionality.

A new light fixture and new furniture and accessories add the finishing touches to this makeover.
