Family Room Makeover with Red White and Blue Accents

These homeowners wanted to re-do their family room, but two sailboat paintings, a Persian area rug and an old leather chair had to stay. See the features of this family room makeover with red, white and blue accents in this video by Robeson Design:

The homeowners wanted an opening to their outdoor barbecue area, so the windows were replaced with French doors and a transom window. On the opposite side, a new casement surrounds the interior room opening.

New furniture included a sofa, chairs with a cane backing and a custom nesting table with handcarved legs.

The art was re-framed, and a third piece was added to fill in the wall space.

Valances for the windows flanking the built-in were made from a paisley velvet material with colors inspired by the red-white-and blue Persian rug. The built-in was refurbished with outlets installed for a pair of skinny lamps.
