Alternatives to Accent Walls and Ways to Hide a TV
House & Home’s Jennifer Koper and Joel Bray discuss alternatives to accent walls and ways to hide a TV in this House & Home video:
The painted accent wall has been a go-to way for injecting color into a space, but it can end up making a space disjointed because all of the color is on one wall. A fresher take on this idea is to put a wash of color on the ceiling, using a color that’s soft and pretty. Another fresh option is to add color to the room’s trim by painting your baseboards and door and window casings in a soft non-white accent color. Just make sure that the color you choose looks good with your flooring as their relationship is very close.
Another common interior design problem is how to camouflage a TV so it doesn’t stick out. One solution is to incorporate it into a gallery wall. If you really don’t want to see it at all when you’re not watching it, hide it in a hutch behind closed doors.
