Dramatic Transitional Living Room Makeover

A 45 degree angled wall is the first thing one sees when entering the clients’ home. The design challenge was to seamlessly incorporate this wall into this open space. See the features of this dramatic transitional living room makeover in this video by Robeson Design:

On the angled wall, a dark built-in bookcase with lit shelves on one side and a furniture piece on the other side creates a great first impression.

In the living room, the symmetrical design includes four chairs surrounding a round jute coffee table and antique pieces stained in a dark espresso. To achieve privacy, the adjacent home office was walled off. Between the spacesw, the addition of an arched window with ironwork and flanking sconces adds beauty and drama.

Three sets of geometric patterned drapery panels with inverted pleats soften the window and make it appear larger.

Should the homeowners decide on a change in color scheme down the road, the cream-colored chairs in the living and dining rooms allow the curtains, pillows and rugs to be changed out at a relatively low cost.
