This is a great solution if you live in a rental, if you’re uncomfortable installing tile, or if you just want to try out a new look without committing to a permanent install. Learn more about this inexpensive DIY project in this Wayfair.com video:
1. Measure your wall to determine how much tile you need, and go online to find a style you love. Remember that you may need to buy a few extra trim pieces if you’re tile doesn’t end in a corner.
2. Clean the wall and remove outlet covers.
3. Assemble your tools. You will need a level, a ruler, and a utility knife to complete this project.
4. Make horizontal and vertical reference lines with a pencil to make sure that your tile stays perfectly straight during the install.
5. Remove the backing and stick the tile in place, working your way all the way around the room. Trim with the utility knife as needed.
If you ever want to remove the tile, simply heat it with a hair dryer and pull it away from the wall.
