Nautical-Inspired Kitchen

Custom concrete countertops, state-of-the-art appliances, and a one-of-a-kind breakfast nook make the nautical-inspired kitchen in the Blog Cabin 2016 a foodie’s dream. See the features in this DIY Network video:

This spacious open kitchen has everything you need , whether you want to cook or just hang out.

A galley-style layout allows for a huge center island that houses a sleek gas cooktop. It’s topped with hand-poured concrete countertops that are infused with colorful sea glass and bits of mother of pearl, featuring open storage below and seating for four on the front. The face features an amazing copper detail that’s been treated to give it a gorgeous turquoise patina.

The perimeter of the kitchen has cool gray concrete countertops and tons of Shaker cabinetry. A beautiful white mosaic scalloped-shaped tile backsplash mimics the look of seashells and runs all the way to the ceiling.

A vintage mahogany boat turned into booth-style seating accents the one-of-a-kind breakfast nook. The table base is actually the steering wheel from the boat.

One more great feature in this kitchen is a second island with more storage and a huge counter on top, which is great for preppping or serving a big meal. On the front side are some poufs that can be used for overflow seating in the adjacent living room.

With a fresh white color palette, plenty of room for the family to gather, and charming nautical touches, this kitchen is going to be a classic for years to come.
