For this DIY project, you will need wood lath, one 1×3 6 ft. board, two 1×2 6 ft. boards, wood cutter, wood glue, staple gun, staples, pen, measuring tape, paintbrush and high-gloss enamel paint.

1. Cut the lath into fourteen 18-inch long strips, cutting both ends of each strip at a 45-degree angle. Cut two additional 23-inch long straight lath pieces

2. Coat the lath strips and boards with high-gloss enamel paint. Let dry. Flip them over and paint on the back sides and let dry.

3. Place the 1×2 boards on either side of the 1×3 board.

4. Glue one straight lath piece 4 inches from the top and secure with a staple gun.

5. Attach the chevron pieces. Glue two angled wood laths opposite one another, then repeat with the remaining 45-degree angle lath pieces. Reinforce with staples using the staple gun.

6. Glue the other straight lath piece 24 inches from the bottom and secure with a staple gun.

7. Dry for 24 hours before use.
