Quick and Easy Drought-Tolerant Container Garden
Do you live in an area with hot, dry summers and have difficulty keeping your container garden alive and well? You can solve the problem with the right containers and carefully selected plants. Learn how to make this quick and easy drought-tolerant container garden in this video by Better Homes and Gardens:
You will need potting mix, gardening gloves, a hand trowel and a large ceramic pot. Don’t use terra corra as it will out faster. The pot should be big enough to hold water.
This video features drought-tolerant salvia, canna and rosemary, but other possibilities include lavender, chives, parsley, thyme, California poppy, scarlet trumpet, agave, hens and chicks, lantana and mandevilla. Just add potting mix to the ceramic pot and add your plants.
Remember that container gardens almost always require more water than in-ground plants; this container garden still needs water, just not as much as others.
