Six Easy Ways to Add Functionality and Style to Your Bathroom

If your bathroom is not working for you, it’s not always necessary to commit to a full renovation. Designer Reiko Caron presents six easy ways to add functionality and style to your bathroom in this House & Home video:

While this new bathroom has a fantastic shower, it does not work as it has a very low sink and no storage (a door hides a stacked washer and dryer).

A few quick fixes (which you can apply in your own space) made this bathroom more functional and stylish:

1. Update fixtures and fittings: The old sink was swapped out for a vanity with storage and a medicine cabinet.

2. Add practical storage: A tall skinny cabinet hides unattractive items.

3. Add decorative storage: A red wall-mounted “first aid kit” and small hanging woven baskets provide extra storage.

4. Add versatile storage: A freestanding corner shelving unit spares the wall tile and does not compromise the flow.

5. Add a touch of art: Lightweight artwork camouflages the laundry door.

6. Add some texture: A larger rug makes the space look larger and cozier.
