The vintage industrial style is raw and edgy. We bring out and celebrate everything that’s normally hidden behind the walls, like exposed beams and pipes. A simple and beautfiul wasy to bring this look home is through copper piping.

For this DIY project, you will need 3/4 copper pipes, 3/4 slip tee fittings, 3/4 slip elbow fittings, copper slip caps, screws, S-hooks, copper tube cutter and copper spray paint, which will add a nice finish to the tips of the screws.

1. In a well-ventilated ares, place the screws and S-hooks in a box. Apply spray paint, shake, and spray some more until the hardware is covered. Set them aside to dry.

2. Measure the pipes to the size you want according to your design and mark it off with a Sharpie.

3. Cut the pipes with the copper tube cutter (be sure to wear gloves for safety). Attach the pipe cutter to the pipe, tighten, rotate, tighten, rotate and repeat.

4. Build the rack. Start with an H shape at the bottom (can be used as a towel rack) and connect small pieces and tee fittings. For a finished look, add end caps when completed.

5. Drill into the wall and secure the rack, then continue to build the rack up the wall. Use a leveler and a stud finder as you go along.

6. Style your finished rack with pots, utensils and towels.
