Open-Concept Kitchen with Unique Accents
This small dated kitchen did not meet the needs of the new homeowners, who wanted a kitchen that was open, bright and user-friendly. The design makeover presented a particular design challenge as the homeowners are tall. See how this space was transformed into an open-concept kitchen with unique accents in this House & Home video:
Opening up the first floor was the first step in this transformation. The central peninsula serves as a bar top that links the dining and kitchen spaces. In lieu of a traditional dining table, a custom banquette runs the length of wall, maximizing the space. Features include the wood floor with its patterned tile inlay, a fully tiled hood, bistro-style shelving and brass chandelier.
