Tips for Growing Herbs in Containers

When it comes to growing herbs, it’s commonly thought that you need to plant a single garden dedicated to herbs, but that’s really not the case at all. Get tips for growing herbs in containers in this video by P. Allen Smith:

1. Position the herb containers by an entryway as close to your kitchen as possible and integrate the herbs into your entryway design with other plants growing around them

2. Herbs require full sun or at least half-day sun.

3. Make sure that the soil drains well and that it’s consistently moist. Herbs should not be sitting in standing water. Use saucers underneath the containers to help reduce watering.

4. Keep the tags and slide them down the side of the containers to help you remember what varieties of herbs you’ve planted.
