If you have less then 20 inches of clearance, don’t do anything. Any items that can fit will be too small, and the space will look cramped.

Keep greenery fresh and updated. For the kitchen cabinets featured in this video, the greenery has hit Kim’s limit of five years and was replaced with boxwood topiary terrariums created out of lanterns and a moss bunny. Greenery adds softness, color, richness and dimension.

Pick decor items that are large enough to be visible.

Create vignettes (areas no longer than 36 inches) and highlight them based upon certain areas in your kitchen (over the range hood or on a bump out). These will keep your eye traveling around the room. One thing to keep in mind when creating your vignettes is to vary the height of your items. A mix of tall, medium and small items will give you a layered look. Also, keep a similar theme and color story.
