Budget-Friendly Powder Room Renovation

This outdated powder room needed a major facelift, but with a budget of just $800, could it be done? See the details of this budget-friendly renovation in this video by Better Homes and Gardens:

Tip: When you’re starting to plan any sort of makeover, take measurements first so that you know what you can fit in a space and how much things are going to cost when you multiply it by the amount of square footage you have.

The homeowners started by calling a pro at a local bathroom remodeling company to plan this renovation project.

To make the 5′ x 5′ room feel larger, the vanity was replaced with a pedestal sink. Installation of new flooring, a backsplash and wainscoting makes the space feel more modern.

Because the budget was tight, the homeowners did their own renovation to save on labor costs and made several pieces of art. Wrapping a canvas with fabric is one easy way to add a pop of color. Once the shelves were installed, it was just a matter of adding some accessories, and this powder room makeover was finished.

Total cost for this project:

Vinyl tile: $165
Backsplash: $110
Sink: $140
Lumber: $115
Shelves: $65
Art: $45
Accessories: $80

Total: $720 ($80 under budget)
