Aluminum Mini Blinds – Durable and Versatile

Aluminum mini blinds (also called venetian blinds) are the most common and popular type of blinds. They are constructed from horizontal aluminum slats and are operated by cords, a continuous cordless loop or a wand which is used to tilt the slats open, closed or in between. An additional cord raises or lowers the entire stack of slats. Aluminum mini-blinds are durable, provide excellent privacy and medium room darkening, come in a wide variety of colors and can be used to cover virtually any type of window. They will blend in well with many different styles of room decor.

Aluminum mini-blind slats come in widths of 1/2, 1, 1 3/8, and 2 inches and gauges (slat thicknesses) of 6, 8 and 9. In general, the smaller 1/2-inch slats are a better choice for smaller windows while 2-inch slats are more suited to larger windows. 8 and 9 gauge blinds are a better choice for a room that experiences a lot of “wear and tear”.
